STEVE'S a brief history...
Steve Mathiesen began Steve's TV in 1957 as a
radio and TV repair shop. He lived and worked at the same location: a white
house at the corner of Lancaster and Cedar Streets in Kitchener. Later, Steve
began selling radios and TVs, and gradually added more products and services
over the years. Steve's TV was incorporated in 1962, and moved to its second
location at 295 Lancaster Street around the same time.
When VCRs came
on the scene in 1980, Steve's was one of the first stores in Kitchener to rent
movies. STEVE'S is now the largest and one of the last-remaining
independent in the area.
Steve's TV moved into its present 12,500
square-foot location at Frederick Mall in 1984. There is also a 7,000
square-foot warehouse. In 1996, Steve Mathiesen retired, and Randy Martin
purchased the business from him. In 2004, our logo was redesigned and our name
was changed to simply STEVE'S

STEVE'S
Movieworld has K-W's largest selection of movies for sale or rent. We have over
8,000 movie titles in stock. STEVE'S won the Video Software Dealers
Association Canadian Retailer of the Year award in
1994.
Steve Mathiesen's philosophy was: “Always give
customers excellent products, good value, and hometown friendly
service.” That dedication to quality and service remains at the
heart of the company's commitment to customers to this day. |
